JEFF SOLOMON has been writing and performing sketch comedy since 1998. Jeff
began studying at Cornell University that year, and he immediately
auditioned for Cornell's sketch group, the Skits-O-Phrenics, after seeing
them perform a ten-minute set during Orientation Week. Having applied to
school with the intention to study music, Jeff's interest in trying to be
funny has kept him from developing a steady practicing routine ever since
that week.
After 4 years with the Skits-O-Phrenics, Jeff co-founded Elephant Larry in
2002 with four fellow alumni and moved to New York. In addition to writing,
performing and doing email publicity for Elephant Larry, Jeff does sound
design and writes the original music for E.L.'s shows (including a full
score to their sketch-play "The Precinct"). He works during the day as a
sound editor and audio engineer for Omnimusic and as a freelance composer
and saxophonist.
Jeff's also a singer-songwriter, and he just completed his first solo
record, "Around the Square," which can be heard at www.jeffsolomonmusic.com.
And when Jeff was five, a pelican tried to eat his head. True story.
